You never know what treasures you’ll find in Portland, it’s one of our best kept secrets.  Take some time to explore this charming little town.  The ruins of the old Portland Cement Works create a dramatic backdrop including the painted silos, typical of so many places in Lithgow where industry has played a major role.

Take a sneak peek around almost any corner and you’ll discover the Signs of Yesteryear, a community project that attracts artists from all over the world.  Together, they reproduce advertising signs ranging from 1895 to 1945 on the walls of local buildings. A happy trip down memory lane.
