The Painted River 2025
March 29 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Get ready for a day where art meets science in the stunning setting of Lake Pillans, Lithgow. Grab your brushes, soak in the scenery, and dive into the wonders of aquatic life at this one-of-a-kind event. Art and science both help us see and understand the world, so why not bring them together? This event is all about blending creativity with discovery, offering a fresh perspective on the waterways that sustain our communities.
The Painted River Project is the brainchild of artist and Western Sydney University Academic Dr Leo Robba, in collaboration with Associate Professor Ian Wright, a leading water scientist. Together, they’re bringing people together to connect with water through art, reminding us why our waterways are essential for a thriving future.
PLEASE NOTE: Participants will be notified of the exact location to meet at Lake Pillans prior to the event. In the event of stormy wet weather, the event will be cancelled. Please follow our Lithgow Transformation Hub Facebook page and Instagram profile for event updates.
The event is funded by the Black Summer Bushfire Grants Program which is an initiative of the Commonwealth Government National Recovery and Resilience Agency.
