Smart Phone SF3 Film Workshop
27 September 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Inspiring all locals 10-18 years-old with a Smartphone to tell stories through film.
That great story you have always thought would make a great film – now’s your chance to tell it!
This FREE workshop for 10-18 year-olds will be delivered by SF3 (SmartFone Flickfest, Australia’s international film festival) at the Lithgow Transformation Hub. Learn smart device skills to turn you into a creativity powerhouse.
SF3 provides training and a platform for budding and emerging young filmmakers to bring their ideas to life, and the potential to have their films seen by a global audience, without the need for lots of fancy equipment or a big budget.
About the workshop:
We start with screenwriting. What makes a great film and how can I write one? Then we brainstorm ideas and workshop scripts and our films. After a short break we get straight into getting the most from your phone’s camera and smartphone filmmaking 101. We finish this section with advanced techniques in phone and tablet filmmaking. Then it is time to shoot our films and put all this practical knowledge into practice. After another short break we come back together for some editing. Learn how to edit and what makes a great final cut. After some editing time, the class presents their pieces for feedback and final editing help to polish their films. And we finish with what next? We break down film festival entry, putting films online and what festivals are looking for and how to stand out to win awards.
The workshop is being delivered in partnership with SF3, Western Sydney University’s Maldhan Ngurr Ngurra Lithgow Transformation Hub and Lithgow City Council.
