A Train Ride with Santa 2025

Step aboard the Zig Zag Railway this Christmas season for a joyful 90-minute return heritage steam journey from Clarence to Bottom Points and back. Feel the magic of Christmas come alive as the hiss of steam, the sound of the whistle, and the beauty of the Blue Mountains surround you.
Santa and his cheerful helpers will be travelling onboard, making their way through the carriages to say hello to every family. They’ll be chatting with the children, sharing holiday smiles, and helping capture the pure excitement of the season. Each paying child ticket includes a special gift personally given by Santa during the journey, making this a memory to treasure.
Stationed in one of our beautifully restored heritage carriages, you’ll also find our festive Christmas photo display. It’s the perfect place to take a keepsake family photo, capturing the magic of the day with the charm and history of the railway as your backdrop. Whether you frame it for the mantelpiece or send it out in your Christmas cards, it’s the kind of picture that becomes part of the family story.
Our Santa Express trains are a relaxed and family-friendly experience designed to delight guests of every age. From grandparents reliving memories to little ones discovering the wonder of steam trains for the very first time, there is something unbelievably special about celebrating Christmas on a living piece of Australian heritage.
We recommend arriving early to soak up the festive atmosphere, explore Clarence Station and its surrounds, and enjoy some Christmas cheer before you roll out of the station in a cloud of steam.
