Local Lithgow artist Rhonda Magritzer will present her debut solo exhibition, FREEDOM AND VULNERABILITY, at the The Union Theatre Gallery this April and May.

Running from 10am to 4pm daily across multiple weekends — April 3rd–6th, 10th–12th, 17th–19th, 24th–27th, and May 1st–3rd — the exhibition marks an exciting milestone for the Lithgow creative community.

FREEDOM AND VULNERABILITY introduces two striking new bodies of work that explore contrast, emotion and artistic experimentation.

The first, the ANTJE SERIES, features colourful, vibrant mixed media abstracts that shimmer with reflective and dichroic elements. These modern works invite viewers to move around each piece, revealing shifting light, depth and energy. Bold and expressive, the series captures a sense of liberation while embracing fragility.

The second collection, the WIRESIN SERIES, presents a contemporary interpretation of the centuries-old “Cloisonné” technique, traditionally associated with intricate enamel work from Japan and China. Magritzer reimagines the method using modern materials, blending fine wirework with richly coloured resin to create pieces that are both delicate and dynamic. The result is a fusion of tradition and innovation, celebrating colour, craftsmanship and style.

This debut exhibition reflects Magritzer’s passion for pushing creative boundaries while remaining deeply personal in her storytelling.

Art lovers, collectors and members of the wider community are warmly invited to attend and support a local artist’s first solo showcase. Admission is free, and all are welcome to experience this vibrant exploration of freedom, vulnerability and artistic expression in the heart of Lithgow.
