This October we are also joining with Arts Out West to present in a very special twilight Live & Kicking concert featuring two of The Central Wests finest acts on the one stage.
The Safety of Life at Sea along with their good friends Smith & Jones are thrilled to be bringing their live stage shows to the grounds of The Foundations Saturday 1st October.
The Safety of Life at Sea are a four piece band from O’Connell who take a leaf out of the books of Motown, Stax and throw in some pages torn from the book of Southern Blues. Mix this up into a musical gumbo and you have the sound of a band that went for a trip to New Orleans and infused that deep into their groove.
Smith & Jones are a duo that was forged from a friendship developed at a record store in Bathurst. 8 years later and two albums on Abby (piano) & Sophie (guitar) are accomplished musicians who combine two strong voices, which were destined to be joined in harmony with a sweet mix of folk, pop and a dash of country. Put simply where ever they play they get straight to the heart of an audience.
The gig follows the opening of Arts OutWest’s ‘While the World Waits’ exhibition at The Foundations of Portland also Saturday 1 October, at 2pm.
Arts OutWest presents the Live & Kicking series featuring Original music artist from The Central West.
