Inspired by the grandeur of English country garden estates, Mayfield Garden near Oberon began to take shape in the mid-1990s and today is one of the worlds largest privately owned cool climate gardens. Mayfield is made up of two main garden areas, Mayfield Water Garden and the Hawkins’ Family Garden.

Mayfield Water Garden has been specially designed to open year-round as a tourist destination (only closed 25 & 26 December) that covers 16 hectares (40 acres). The Hawkins’ Family Garden is the private garden which is an additional 49  hectares  (120  acres) beyond Mayfield Water Garden. The whole 65 hectares of the Hawkins’ Family Garden is open to visitors during a limited number of weeks during each season.

Spring: Last two weeks in October ( Sat 15 OctSun 30 Oct.)
Autumn: Last two weeks in April (16 April–May 1 Closed: all Public Holidays)
Adult: $25 Child 7-16yrs: $10 Child 0-6yrs: Free
Family: $65 (2 adults+2 children)
