Lamplona – Running of the Wools

‘Lamplona’, Lithgow’s very own version of the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona Spain is the ‘Running of the Wools’. For under 10’s and featuring friendly sheep, the little members of the family can run wild amongst the ‘wools’ before settling down to enjoy the star studded concert.

Time – 6.00pm – 6.45pm

Ethel (Head Sheep)

Hello Lithgow, Ethel the sheep here. I’m an Aries, and I love grass.

I’ve been a sheep for a while now, and I love my life in the paddock.

Me and the girls in the flock are very much looking forward to meeting all of your families and photoholics on Saturday 7th December at the Lithgow Showground.

Especially you under 10 scallywags, who want a good giggle, and like playing chasing!

Lithgow Lamplona; ‘Running of the wools’ don’t be sheepish now kiddies, we won’t hurt you.

Us ‘girls just wanna have fun’ but my favourite song is: Bad to the Bone. (Baaa, Baaa, Baaa, Baaaaad)

Monty (Sheepdog)

Woof, and I mean it! I like bones, lying down in the shade, fresh water and a scratch. I’m a Leo.

Part of being a professional sheepdog is knowing when to start and stop those woolly bandits!

I take my (grrr) job very seriously and understand the importance of what the farmer wants.

So tell your kiddies, from Monty, that they’ll be ‘as safe as’ (woof) doing the Lithgow Lamplona ‘running of the wools’.

Favourite song: ‘Who let the dogs out’
