Lithgow Halloween 2024 ‘Libre de Faire’
October 26 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Lithgow Halloween 2024, Saturday 26th October, is the story of ‘Libre de Faire’.
It means: ‘free to be’ or ‘free to make’.
Free to be yourself in costume and cosplay, free to make your own choices of how to celebrate with your family, in the safety and sanctuary of Lithgow’s Main Street.
Free to enjoy and express yourself, no matter how old, or young, you are.
The entire festival will be lit up with an array of projections, animated and feature lighting to truly set the scene and mood for this special event.
Therefore, we send a welcome and call out to all faeries, elves, Bwbachod (a ‘little’ scarer), Coblynau (spirits of the mines), Gwragedd Annwn (beautiful female fairies) and the Gwyllion (mountain spirits) cosplayers, families, teens and Lithgowites from far and wide.
‘Libre de Faire’ in Main Street Lithgow will commence at 4 pm and conclude at 9 pm. There will be 3 precincts of activities designed for every age group and desire:
‘Wicked Lane’ – Starts from Gray Street up to Cook Street Plaza and will have a concert size performance stage, Bands, Dancers, fire stunts, stilt walkers, food stalls, markets, and a mechanical bull.
‘Freak Street’ – From Cook Street Plaza up to Eskbank Street, is where the cosplay and fae-folk start their day. A performance stage, greenscreen, fire stunts, reptiles, LED dancers, stilt walkers, glow lounges, chill zones, food, markets, and the throne of the faery queen Unseelie
‘The Haunted Highway’ – Runs from Eskbank Street to Bridge Street. This is where children and families shine. The facepainting, activities, glow zone (play area), stilt walkers, fire dancers, LED dancers, jumping castle, giant inflatable slide, cup and saucer ride, spooky backdrop photographic scenes for everlasting photos, food, cafes, market stalls, glow lounges, outdoor seating and more are situated.
To celebrate the origins of Samhain (Halloween) this year we offer Fae-folk and all others who attend a safe sanctuary, with: ‘Libre de Faire’.
Come, and join the ‘Herd of Faery’ and their otherworld kind, with all other attendees for a parade at 5pm and again at 6.45pm to let everyone know you are here, to protect, watch over them and keep this world safe to enjoy, by following the ‘Libre de Faire’ Faery Queen: Unseelie Fae.
To all the ‘other monsters’ and troublemakers who don’t understand this fun celebration of community:
There will be a very strong police and security presence this year, so all attendees may feel safe to enjoy themselves, without disturbance.
